1. Do not eat or drink while using a laptop.
2. Use the keyboard and mouse gently.
3. Make sure your hands are clean and dry before using a laptop.
4. Use correct seating posture while using a laptop.
5. Respect all classroom materials (laptops, clickers, ipads, etc).
6. Listen for directions before turning on the laptop.
7. Work quietly and stay on task.
8. If working with a partner, be fair, and share the laptop equally (Take turns).
9. Do not forget to save documents if necessary, before shutting down a computer.
10. Show respect to your peers, teachers, substitutes, and or visitors at all times.
11. Switch to “low voice” immediately when the classroom telephone rings.
12. Raise your hand before: sharing a thought, going to the closet, sharpening your pencil, using the bathroom, drinking water, or leaving the classroom for any reason.
13. Ask the teacher for help if you do not understand a task or directions.
14. If you are late to class for any reason, take a seat quietly, and wait for directions (You may also quietly ask a neighbor how to get started).
15. You may not alter or change the desktop wallpaper on your screen!
16. You may not change the log-in password to any user accounts on the computer!
17. If you finish your assignment early, you may read or write quietly, visit any educational websites listed on the class website, or open other educational programs and activities available in your computer or iPad.
18. All computer use must have an educational purpose!
19. Ask permission before helping another student (No helping during a quiz or a test!).
20. If you are having issues with another student, show leadership by getting the teacher’s attention immediately! (Respect the teacher’s decision when asked to move seats or other reasonable requests).
21. If you are given a disciplinary letter to take home, you are to get it signed by a parent/guardian, and return it to your classroom teacher the following school day.
22. Consequences for breaking class rules are as follows: losing choice time privileges, disciplinary letter, phone call home, lunch detention, or a visit to the administration.
